Jackson Hole suffers another Wall Street casualty
October 2nd, 2008Posted in Skiing Everywhere
One of the benefits of life in and around established ski towns is the growth in cultural amenities that inevitably go along with them attracting people of varying backgrounds and interests. It was sad and quite surprising to read this morning that the Jackson Film Institute has been forced to close. According to the story in the Jackson Hole Daily, much of the funding to support the intstitute originated from the deep pockets of Wall Street. The vaporization of so much wealth there has left supporters pinching pennies now. It appears that this is at least one example of cut backs that may become more common across second home America.
