Winter’s Back

This morning’s snow reports are encouraging: Jackson says they picked up 3″-5″ of snow after closing yesterday making for 6″-10″ in the past 24 hours. Grand Targhee is reporting 3″ since the lifts closed and 8″ in the past 24 hours. Further north of here, even snow starved Big Sky and Bridger have picked up a couple of feet of snow over the last couple of days. It has been the same story to our south where Utah resorts have added a couple of feet of new snow too. Lucky Beaver Mountain got 29″ in one 30 hour period! The NWS is predicting more snow and continued below freezing temps for the next few days, so hopefully the Tetons will grab their fair share of the precip and we’ll be back to satisfying powder mornings on a regular basis.

I hope locals in the Teton area remember to carpool as often as possible and definitely support Targhee’s Carpool Sundays again this Sunday. On Sunday, carpoolers at Targhee can make a good thing even better if they pass off the coupon for free hot chocolate Targhee gives them for carpooling to some youngster they encounter who they think deserves it. A random act of kindness kind of a thing to make a kid smile.
